The Canada Pavilion

Canada's Participation

Canada will build a separate $35,000,000 structure to house its facilities. The 7500 square meter pavilion will be one of the most popular stops at the exposition (the Canada Pavilion has ranked as one the top 5 pavilions in every world's fair since 1940), attracting up to 30,000 visitors each day. The pavilion will feature a fully-integrated thematic experience with leading-edge multimedia technology and exhibitory. Highlights will include a virtual river, representative of the world's most important sustainable resource, a 12-minute film in a one-of-a-kind 360-degree multi-sensorial theatre, a free flow exhibit area and a VIP area with state-of-the-art conference facilities.

The leading reason for participation is to tell the world that Canada is "open to the world for business." Opportunities for export development will abound. Participation in Expo 2000 will enable official sponsors to raise their profile on a global scale.

Three broad themes will reflect Canada's cultural distinctiveness, commitment to environmental stewardship, and its leading edge technological capability. Together they will show how Canada is uniquely placed to offer leadership to the world in managing interactions between humankind, nature and technology.

Canada's participation in Expo 2000 is based on the successful Team Canada concept and a comprehensive partnership approach. Canada's themes are:

· Spirit of Community

· Stewards of the Land

· Connecting with the Future
